A 6-minute walk from the San Francisco Zoo, this 1936 art-deco motel is 2 blocks from the sand dunes of Ocean Beach in the city’s laid-back southwest corner. It’s also across the street from a stop for the Muni Metro light-rail train offering service to downtown. Cedar-paneled rooms and suites with up to 2 bedrooms have free Wi-Fi, cable TV and en suite bathrooms with showers; some add minifridges and microwaves. Suites with fully equipped kitchens may require minimum stays. On-site parking is free for guests. Other amenities include a garden courtyard with a hot tub, and a playground for kids.

This is a true gem in SF! Chester is incredibly nice and informative. We loved the charm of the room, the quietness of the neighborhood, and being able to hear the ocean! We took a nice stroll to dinner and the beach. If you’re looking for the SF experience but would want to stay somewhere more lowkey and relaxed, this is the place for you Parking was no issue, my only wish is that the beds were more comfortable/less firm - but this is definitely a personal preference.
