●Overall: This is truly the best choice to choose if you visit San Francisco. It offers a perfect balance of comfort, value, and a classic city vibe. (+) ​The Positives ​● Prime Location: Situated right near Union Square and just a short walk from the Powell BART station. The iconic cable car (tram) stops right in front of the hotel. ​●No Resort Fees: A huge plus! They provide complimentary coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and filtered water/ice stations throughout the day without any hidden charges. ●​Room Comfort & Climate: The rooms don't have air conditioning, but they feature a ceiling fan, which is perfect since the San Francisco weather is naturally cool. For colder nights, the in-room heater works great to keep things cozy ​●Excellent Bathroom Facilities: The water pressure is fantastic, and the water is nice and hot, which is exactly what you need after a long day of walking. ​Great Service: The housekeeping staff is wonderful—they clean the room and provide fresh towels every single day, ensuring the space stays tidy. ​●Functional Layout: While the building is vintage, the rooms are clean and well-organized with a separate closet area and very fast Wi-Fi. ​■Check-in & Costs ​●Transparent Pricing: I stayed here for 3 nights. During check-in, I paid a fee of $30, which was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. ​(-)The Negatives ​●Thin Walls: The walls are a bit thin, so you might hear neighbors occasionally. If you are a light sleeper, earplugs are a good idea. ​■Good to Know ​●Street Life: You will see some homeless individuals on the way from Powell Station.
