A 13-minute walk from Union Square, this laid-back hotel in the Nob Hill neighborhood is an 11-minute walk from the Civic Center. Decorated with hand-painted Moroccan tables, marble-topped writing desks and global photography, the warm rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffeemakers and iPod docks. Upgraded rooms provide 42-inch TVs and city views, and a suite has a living room with a pull-out sofa, plus a soaking tub. An exotic fusion restaurant serves American breakfast, and freebies include nightly wine receptions with live music and local car service on weekday mornings. Valet parking is available for a fee.

Excellent rooms, extremely comfortable beds. It could've used a table with seating somewhere though, which was sadly not present, not even in the lobby. But if I could give 6 stars for service, I would. After a delayed flight, I was forced to stay past check-out, and didn't realize it until I'd been charged for it via my security deposit. After explaining my situation to management, however, they graciously promised to refund me for the extra charges. It was an extremely generous gesture that I can't thank them enough for.
