Suites on Nob Hill
Master Critic Review
San Francisco Suites on Nob Hill comprises sixteen individually furnished suites, each appointed with period English antiques and 18th- and 19th-century oil paintings, etchings, engravings, and prints. The one-bedroom and studio suites contain queen beds, and many include a couch that converts to a second bed. Each suite has a full kitchen with Corian countertops, oak parquet flooring and cabinets, a refrigerator, an electric oven and range, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Bathrooms feature Carrara marble and brass tub-and-shower combinations, and several suites add whirlpool Jacuzzi tubs. Living areas include a cable television with DVD and VHS players, an AM/FM stereo with CD and cassette, and an in-suite safe. Housekeeping runs daily, the houseman provides room service, and the San Francisco Chronicle is set out in the lobby each morning and delivered to suites on request. A board room off the lobby, with windows facing Powell and Pine Streets, is available by advance reservation for meetings and catered events. An enclosed rooftop gazebo overlooks the corner of Powell and Pine. The lobby centers on a fireplace and a piano, where complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres are served daily from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and sherry every evening from 8 to 9 p.m.
