The Jay was the perfect hotel for our small family. Staff extremely kind and helpful throughout our day. From the moment we arrived, the valets were courteous and provided plenty of suggestions on where we could go nearby for food and actually introduced us to one of our favorite new spots to visit in the future. The staff at the front desk worked with us to make sure we have the right room choice that would suit our needs, and their guidance was impeccable. The rooms were very generous In size. It is always surprising in our cities to find spacious lodging environments, And this one was truly exceptional for us. There was plenty of excess storage, so nothing ever felt cramped, and most importantly, the bathroom shower was a large walk-in. Felt like we were at a spa-like retreat simply because The layout and design was just perfect. The lighting was also beautiful, without being harsh or too dark. I believe all in all we had nine groupings of lights in the suite, which gave us the ability to create different moods within the space- very important for families where the adults are not ready to retire. Some of the rooms have balconies, & we enjoyed murmurations of green parakeets every night at sundown, creating a secondary spectacle to the sunset and views of the water and bridges. What a treat to be so close to the Ferry building off embarcadero- the walkability was excellent for quick late night dining or a breakfast croissant. Try the Devils teeth baking company’s cinnamon roll from around the corner for coffee and nosh- enough for two people and scrummy. Highly recommended hotel- we will be back.
